Everybody [Astrologers, Astrology buffs and students] knows
about the Moons Nodes but most Astrologers and common people too aren't familiar with the
Nodes of the Planets. All Nodes [the Moon's and the Planet's] are nothing but calculated
mathematical points. But these mathematical points are very significant, just like Moon Wobbles.
The Planetary Nodes are derived the same way as the
Moons
Nodes are calculated. The Lunar Nodes are the points in the Zodiac where the plane of the
Earth's orbit is crossed by the plane of the Moons orbit. The Planets Nodes are the points
in the Zodiac where each Planet's orbit crosses the plane of Earth's orbit. In actuality
all Nodes are really lines instead of points but agreeing to that fact is not necessary to
grasp the validity of the concept offered here.
Planetary Node periods are much longer that the period of
the Moon's Nodes which are about 19.5 years. Most Planetary Node periods are of the order
of 2 to 3 thousand times longer, i.e. 40,000 to 60,000 years, than the Moon Nodes period.
For all the profound purposes, the Planetary Nodes do not move during a persons lifetime.
The SUN has no NODES. Earth's orbit around the SUN is the
'Frame of Reference".
The Planetary Nodes were re-discovered by Astrologer Grant
Lewi in 1940's. Lewi was the original editor of HOROSCOPE Magazine. Lewi did extensive
mathematical study's on validity of Planetary Nodes throughout the 1930's. Lewi and pal
Carl Payne Tobey used these Node study's in their Astrological consultations, research and
writings beginning in the 1940's.
The Nodes of the Planets are very important Aspects in some
peoples natal Horoscopes.
